Year Three: Day Nineteen!

First day of my Christmas break! HOORAY!

I'm moving as slow as molasses today. But that's to be expected, right?  But here in a bit I'm going to go do some last minute Christmas shopping. Normally I'm done Christmas shopping by the end of November, but I'm running super far behind this year. Oops. I'll get it done.

DAY NINETEEN

Today's sweatshirt is super special. 

Why, you may ask?

My friend Susan asked if I had any room for this one, and I told her I'd make room. It was made for her by our other friend Tara Gallion. And let me tell you. It's magical.

Jessica Simpson might be one of my guilty listening pleasures... However, I enjoy her 2010 album Happy Christmas a whole lot more than her 2004 album Rejoyce: A Christmas Album. That's just personal opinion. Plus, she spelled "Rejoice" wrong on that album. I don't get it. 

I really like her song "My Only Wish."

Year Three: Day Eighteen!

Today is my last day of work before my 2 week Christmas break! HOORAY!

But boo not being paid for 2 weeks...

Part time job problems. Lame.

Is everyone done with their Christmas shopping?

Because I'm sure not!

I'm gonna do some last minute stuff tomorrow.

What's a good gift for my parental units? I don't even know.

DAY EIGHTEEN

BEDAZZLED SWEATER VEST.

Guys. GUYS. It doesn't get much better than this.

What shows Christmas spirit more than a snowman made of fake beads? 

Or a beaded Christmas tree?

Or this design that I'm pretty sure is supposed to be a horn of some sort? 

Or a white poinsettia?

(P.S. poinsettia is a weird word)

And we can't forget the green and white candy cane!

I feel like this vest was some old lady's pride and joy.

If anyone reading this knows me really well, you KNEW this was coming.

Okay. As far as Christmas albums go... this one, let's be honest, isn't that great. But, it's very nostalgic for me. Hilary Duff's Santa Claus Lane was the definitive Christmas album of my jr. high years. As my family and friends know, I used to be stalkarazzi obsessed with Lizzie McGuire and all things Hilary Duff. So as you would guess, this album was my Christmas JAM. Listening to it now... Meh. But she was 15 when she recorded this album, so it's fine. I still love it.

P.S. Hilary Duff is working on her return to music and I'm ecstatic...

DAY SEVENTEEN

A MAJOR AWARD!

Today's picture comes directly from my office at work. Are you jealous that you don't have a leg lamp in your office? You should be. As many of you know, I play The Old Man Parker (aka the dad) in a production of A Christmas Story last year. It was one of my favorite show's I've ever been in, and after I got a job here at the community college, our theater director let me keep this in my office!

ANYWAY BACK TO THE SWEATER!

First off, we have some classic Christmas trees. How lovely.

Next, we have a winter house. Is it supposed to be a gingerbread house?

Or just a winter cottage? I don't know.

Then we have some festive bird houses! 

Also, a snowman with Christmas lights!

And finally on the back, we have more birdhouses!

Now that I think about it... it's really weird to have birdhouses and no birds.

I mean, really. I don't get it.

Okay. The real reason this is my selection is because this is my step-mom's favorite Christmas album. Jamie LOVES Christina Aguilera.  She keeps asking when it's going to be my album of the day.

But I'm actually just listening to this album for the first time... It's fun.

Year Three: Day Sixteen!

Monday is dragging because it's Monday. But only 2 more days and then I'm on Christmas break!!
Huzzah!

DAY SIXTEEN

I did have a leopard print bow tie... But it was just too much.

Especially for a Monday morning.

This Christmas, Santa has done away with the traditional red coat.

This year, red is OUT and animal print is IN!

I had no idea that Santa was that acrobatic!! 

You learn something new every day.

Also. This sweater goes perfectly with my leopard print shoes.

It's okay. I know you're jealous of my incredible style.

Ok. Confession. I have this deep love for David Archuleta that I can't even explain. I don't even know. His 2009 album Christmas from the Heart, in my opinion, is underrated. Check it out. It makes me happy.

Year Three: Day Fifteen!

WOW. Today has been extremely long... but very rewarding! Our small ensemble within the concert choir was invited to sing at a local church this morning, so we sang at three services. Then I had lunch at a friend's house. We also had our holiday concert this afternoon, and it went so well! Afterwards I went out to dinner with some people... And now I've finally made it home to write today's post! Sorry it's so late! 

DAY FIFTEEN: 

Do Christmas sweaters make you jump for joy? Me too!!

This was obviously this morning when I had more energy.

It's really cold outside. Wear a coat, kids.

Today's sweater is pretty cool. I like it. So many fun things!

Year Three: Day Fourteen!

Lazy Saturday so far... Not much happening today. One of our holiday concerts that was supposed to be this evening was cancelled, and I'm pretty bummed about it.

I really don't have much motivation to do anything today. Yeehaw.

Scottie dogs! I had lunch at my grandma's today, and I wore this one because I knew she likes Scottie dogs. She collected those scottie dog candy dishes. You know which ones I'm talking about? Anyway, she really liked it!

I love love LOVE Kristin Chenoweth.  Her 2008 album A Lovely Way to Christmas really is a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit. My favorite track is the "Sleigh Ride/Marshmallow World" duet with John Pizzarelli. It's adorable. I love it. However, I don't understand why there is a cover of The Carpenters' song "Sing" on the album.. but Chenoweth does whatever she wants.

Year Three: Day Thirteen!

Hope no black cats cross your path or whatever superstitious things that are bad don't happen!

Did that sentence even make sense? You get where I'm going with this.

Someone yesterday asked me if I had a certain special sweater picked out for the 13th..

The answer is: No. Unfortunately, I didn't pick something out specifically for today because I didn't realize today was the 13th until yesterday.

But today's sweater has beaded snowflakes on it. Does that count?

DAY THIRTEEN

In this picture, I wore just a white undershirt... But afterwards I changed into a button-up shirt because the sweater is too short and my undershirt wasn't staying tucked in.... And the world could see my tramp stamp and the world just isn't ready for that.

Just kidding. I don't have a tramp stamp.

It'd be funny if I did. Like if it was like a dragon or an armadillo or something.

Ok, enough of that.

Back to the snowmen!

The nose of the bottom one is weird.

But it's a cute sweater! I like it. I like it a lot.
